If you have a social media presence there is one very important rule to follow.
Regular posts and presence.
So many of your prospective patients are not google searching as much and opting to find you on social media. Your presence on social media allows prospective patients to connect with you on a personal level.
Social Media is about being social, friendly and interesting to attract people’s attention.
People are attracted to people they can identify with. That’s why it’s so important to include pictures of patients. Yes you can stage it a little!
Good social media is also about community. You have an opportunity to be part of where people live near you.
This is a fabulous way to build rapport and connect with prospective patients before the very first phone call to your practice.
Keep in mind that social media is about people interacting.
To stand out you must fit this criteria and more.
Ditch the pictures and videos of empty dental chairs and patient lounges that have no people in them.
People sell people.
If your social media posts are looking way too clinical with no people in them and its the same old stuff, then think again!
Stale bread never sells. You want your business to be the fresh bread straight out of the oven. It smells good and tastes good.
Worse still is a business social media account that has no regular posts.
All you do now is drive your prospective patients into the arms of another more interesting dentist not far from you who seems to love people on his/her social media.
Not posting or having non people posts can even have a negative affect on prospective employees looking you up.
You MUST have an ACTIVE presence on social media full of fun and interest.
Inactive social media damages your brand.
Respond personally to all social media interactions.
This is equal to a prospective patient calling the office.
This can be the first point of contact for many prospective patients.
Like I said, stale bread does not sell and stale posts do not sell your practice to people looking you up. These post actually do harm to your reputation. People will immediately question why you have not posted for over a year. Maybe the business is no longer there.
If you are struggling for time, try posting once a week.
Even a few consistently timed posts are better than nothing.
There is always the option to hire a social media manager who can help with the regularity of the posts.
Remember once you stop posting, people will think you have closed down or maybe you just don’t care.
