One of the best ways to keep patients is to make life easy for them.

Have you ever had a person in business say to you, “please leave it with me and I will sort it out.”

I know this is music to my ears.

You may have said this to your patients.

Every person that you look after and do business with, wants to hear this. I challenge anyone who says they don’t.

Your patients come to you for a number of reasons but overall they come to you for help.

It may be to help them stay on track to keep a healthy mouth and teeth, it may be to help them get their smile back or even to help them get out of pain. But whatever your patients concern is, you are there to help them.

You always want your patient to feel confident in you, and even if there is an issue, you have it under control and you are immediately ready to work through the problem.

So many businesses fail big time with this.

Ok, I can’t see you right now, but I’m sure you are nodding “yes” to this statement.

Have you ever been let down with a service?

Look, we are all human and make mistakes from time to time, even when our intention is good.

But I see the mistakes we make whilst trying to serve our patients, as an opportunity to shine.

We don’t want to make mistakes with patients but if it happens we must know what to do next, so our patients do not lose faith in us and still feel we have it all under control.

Once an error occurs you want to own the mistake as soon as possible and then immediately go into action and find a solution for your patient. This immediately softens the problem and allows the patients to feel comfortable knowing you are sorting it out for them.

I’ve seen dental practices increase their patient’s confidence in them, just by fixing a mistake straight away.

And I’ve seen the opposite, where patients are lost!

Take the problem away from the patient. This should be the case even if you have not made the error.

You want your patients to see you as the Dental Practice who sorts out problems so they don’t have to worry about anything.
