I love the idea of things for free, especially if I am a New Patient, but I need to let you in on a little secret.

Please don’t even try to schedule me for all the things you find wrong in my mouth unless you are offering me more free.

Free attracts free.

Once you set your mark at free then there is nowhere else to go but down from there.

How do you go down from free?

Free Stuff

You don’t. You then lose your patients.

Attracting new patients to free can sometimes work but realistically it doesn’t work very often.

It also annoys the heck out of your existing patients.

Why are they not getting their Check-up and Clean for free?

OK. Let’s have another look at this scenario.

Offering something for free to new patients means they value this service about as much as every cent they pay you for this service.

Zero.

Offering something free also says you have little value for what you offer for free as well.

This is not how you want to start a relationship with a new patient, unless you are happy if they never come back and see you again.

Why not think about the type of patients you want to attract.

What do they want?

What do they value?

What is important to them?

What makes them choose you over another dentist?

This is what you need to ask yourself and then offer your New Patients this!

You need to decide early on in your dental business who you want to attract to your Dental Office and stick to this.

So often I see dentists giving in to something they don’t need to give in to.

Stand your ground and really value what you do and stick to it.

There will always be New Patients who value what you do and also have their own high values.

I believe this is what sets some dentists apart from others and also sets patients apart from others.

A match made in heaven in your Dental Office.
